This project was initiated from a joint interest of Mint and The Hopale Foundation on the proposal of new interaction systems, for free creation of geometric content. ANR TecSan project REACTIVE, lead by Hopale, proposed virtual reality based tools for rehabilitation. The SHIVA project extends this work and tries, within this application context as well as within the context of children with disabilities, to propose tools that allow both education and rehabilitation, as well as creativity.
The consortium structure brings together 4 partners, each providing a unique skill, necessary for the project realization: INRIA provides advanced interaction techniques and gesture analysis; Bournemouth University proposes a geometric modelling software; the Hopale Foundation provides a test-bed for patients in need of rehabilitation and user-feedback; the Victoria Education Centre provides a test-bed of young people with disabilities and user- feedback.
